Due to an anonymous generous donation of rice we were able to return to Unnammed road and follow up on our promise. Also, Torror Angkor and his brother donated their time and tuk tuk services (free of charge) to hand deliver rice today for Expert-Exchange. Torror Angkor and his brother were able to bridge the gap and help Expert-Exchange further its relationship with Unnamed road. We will be back next week to bring medical supplies and sponsor children for school.
This project was generously underwritten by a donation from Tamara Severance Evanson. With her support Expert-Exchange was able to go to Ta Ek village and begin teaching basic first aid. We will be going out there every two weeks to bolster their skills. EXPERT-EXCHANGE would like to provide ongoing training and one day see the staff at Ta Ek teach CPR to others in their community.
Thank you and please do not hesitate to reach out and become involved!
What an extremely productive and engaging week. With the generous support of donors and volunteers we were able to accomplish many things. Expert-Exchange was able to begin teaching a village first aid and CPR.
The following day we went to another village and followed up on our promise. The week before they asked for rice and we were able to get 50 kg of rice to distribute to each family.
Today we sponsored a child who lost his parents for school. EE was able to get him 4 sets of clothing, supplies for school, and his own backpack. All of this was able to happen because of your generous support and donations!
This week due to the generous donations and support we were able to hand out many supplies. We also were able to engage each local and find out their individual needs. This week we will be distributing rice, medical supplies, and basic hygiene supplies. Thank you for the continued support and we will update you after the next visit!
For a more detailed account please read a very well written article by Bianca Caruana who accompanied EXPERT-EXCHANGE on this project at:
Michael Root from Vermont Veterans and Board Member of EE has not only dedicated his time but generously donated money to sponsor a highly motivated young woman. Srey Mou is an amazingly empowered and dedicated person who is passionate about advancing not only herself, but her country. With Michaels contribution EE has sponsored the books for her schooling. Srey Mou works 45-plus hours a week and attends school on her days off for 12 hours each day on the weekend. She has one year left which EE is going to sponsor and support her in any way possible.
Another visit back to Unnamed Village turned out to be a huge success. Expert-Exchange distributed water bottles, sandals, school supplies, and some toys to every child in the village. After this we went around and talked to each person at their homes and listened to their needs. The biggest request was for rice and to get their kids into an actual school.
We are fortunate to have rice next week being donated so every person in the village get's enough to last them a week. Along with that we have had a generous donor who is going to sponsor a child for school. Our goal is once we alleviate some of the day to day struggles we can focus on long term sustainability. Along with that we need to continue to build a relationship with this village and show them we are here for the long term.
Next week we will be also bringing medical supplies in addition to the rice and other basic supplies. If you would like to get involved in any way at all please contact us. Every dollar counts, the amount of change that we are making with minimal funding is truly inspiring. Video below is one of the children very excited to get her own water bottle and new sandals.
Excellent article about the visit;
The past week was full of proactive outreach and interaction between two villages and Expert-Exchange. Expert-Exchange visited two villages and distributed school supplies to children with out access and in need.
Thank you for the generous support from everyone to allow this to happen. Expert-Exchange has no plans of stopping with help to these villages. Next week we will return and distribute more supplies. We have ordered 50 unique Expert-Exchange backpacks for the kids and also plan on getting enough money to purchase clothing for the kids too.
As always we encourage you to get involved and help any way possible. Video below and more updates to come soon! Please don't hesitate to support, even a small amount goes extremely far!
Video below is just a short clip of how a local was helping hand out backpacks to people who did not have them and would benefit greatly from them.
Excellent event to raise awareness for veterans suicide organized by 1LT Mabie. Glad to see veterans coming together with civilians and getting this issue out into the mainstream. Thank you, Christopher Parker for taking the time to interview people and thank you to every one who was willing to talk. I wish I could have attended in person, but am glad that Expert-Exchanges board lead the way. When asked if this is going to be an annual event, we would reply with we certainly hope not. This certainly should not still be an issue next year, this epidemic needs to be solved as soon as possible.
